Green Day Gets Rave Reviews, Plays Classic Rock Covers At Irvine Show
Rock band Green Day is getting rave reviews for a Wednesday night show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California. According to the "L.A. Times" blog, the group played a three-hour show while inviting fans to join them onstage. In addition to playing their own songs, Green Day took on several classic rock cover songs. They played AC/DC's "Highway To Hell," The Who's "Baba O'Riley," Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child o' Mine," The Beatles' "Hey Jude," Billy Idol's "Dancing With Myself," Ozzy Osbourne's "Iron Man," and the Beach Boys' "California Girls." The band is in the final dates of its North American tour. Green Day wraps up the trek with a show at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View on Saturday, September 4th. |
