Lauryn Hill Is "Getting Closer" To Releasing A New Album
Former Fugees singer Lauryn Hill is hinting about a new album but isn't saying much. She tells MTV.com, quote, "We're getting closer. That's all I can say." The vocalist hasn't released a studio album since "The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill" came out in 1998. Hill says she respects all the different sounds she's hearing in the music industry. She says, quote, "It's been such a long time since I've gotten my voice and my ideas [out]. In terms of collaborations, that's not even something I've been thinking about per se. I'm happy that people are still making music. That we still have a platform with which to make music." Hill adds that it will be interesting to see what the future holds.
She just played both the east and west coast dates of the Rock The Bells Festival. Hill brought celebrities Beyonce Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beats, John Legend, and Chris Rock on stage with her during Saturday night's show at New York's Governor's Island. |
