Quick Bites
Barbara Mandrell is making a rare concert appearance with her sisters Louise and Irlene. The "Tennessean" says the singing siblings will be taking the stage at the Nashville Palace in Nashville for a benefit supporting the S.E.E.K. -- Suba Environmental Education of Kenya. Barbara Mandrell's daughter Jamie Dudney is one of the event's organizers. Megan Linsey and Joshua Scott of Steel Magnolia have a lucky number. It's eleven, so it's only fitting that the duo's full-length self-titled debut album will be released on January 11th, 2011. Tickets are available now for the 4th annual ACM Honors on September 20th. Keith Urban, Mel Tillis, and Marty Robbins are being honored, along with industry vet Rod Essig, songwriters Don Schlitz and Cindy Walker, and the film "Crazy Heart." Lee Ann Womack, a five-time ACM Award winner, will host, while Kix Brooks, Martina McBride, Kenny Rogers, Randy Travis, and Larry and Steve Gatlin are scheduled to appear. Log on to Ticketmaster.com to purchase tickets, which cost 37-dollars. Connie Smith is the Spotlight Artist as Opry Country Classics begins its fall season. Bill Cody is hosting the show, which features Emily West, T.G. Sheppard, Jeannie Seely, and other Opry greats.
