U2, Hansard To Star In "Music Of Ireland" Documentary
U2 is one of subjects in an ongoing PBS documentary series. Billboard.com reports that the network's "Music of Ireland" is returning to the airwaves with a second chapter that features Bono and company; Oscar-winning songwriter Glen Hansard; singer-songwriter Damien Rice; and the alt-rock band The Script. "Music of Ireland" premiered in February with an episode called "Welcome Home." Its second installment -- "Welcome To America" -- will debut this fall. Barnes & Noble will distribute the DVD and CD counterparts to the series about musicians from the Emerald Isle. "Music of Ireland: Welcome To America" will pick up in the 1980s with an emphasis on the role U2 played as it broke through internationally. Sinead O'Connor and The Corrs will also be featured. |
