Animal Collective Takes A Break
Animal Collective is coming off the most successful record of their career, but they appear in no hurry to capitalize on it. Band member Panda Bear -- a.k.a. Noah Lennox -- tells BBC's "6Music" that they are "lying low," and while they aren't likely to split up, it may be a while before they return. He explains, quote, "There was just so much touring for us. We're not really road dogs. We were really happy with the record, so we wanted to put in a little extra this time. But it took its toll in terms of just being exhausted." As for the break leading to something more permanent, Panda Bear added, quote, "There have been times in the past when I've thought we were done. So I don't know, this could be it. I don't expect it to be, I should say, but you never know." During the downtime, the singer expects to make a solo record and play some dates as well. After his support of the solo effort, he feels he will be ready to return for more with Animal Collective. |
