Madonna To Direct Cornish In "W.E."
There's a new announcement in connection with "W.E.," the forthcoming film from "virgin" director Madonna. Variety.com reports that Abbie Cornish has joined the cast of the film about American socialite Wallis Simpson's relationship with England's King Edward The Eighth. There's no confirmation of Cornish's exact role in the film. Simpson was 40-years-old at the time of her royal affair. Cornish is only 27. Australian-born Cornish and has risen to prominence with roles in "Stop-Loss," "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," and 2009's "Bright Star."
The Material Girl will direct "W.E." from a script that she co-wrote with Alek Keshishian who directed the 1991 documentary "Madonna: Truth or Dare." |
