Sugarland's Kristian Bush Among Those Mourning Alex Chilton
Sugarland's Kristian Bush is among the musicians mourning the death of rocker Alex Chilton. Bush notes on Sugarland's Twitter account, quote, "My condolences to the family and friends of Alex Chilton. A terrible loss to music. Thank you Alex for your songs and your voice. -Kristian" Chilton is perhaps best remembered as the vocalist for The Box Tops. He sang the band's biggest hits, including "The Letter" and "Cry Like A Baby." The Memphis musician later formed the band Big Star, which was a major influence on power pop and the indie rock scene in the 1980s and '90s. Chilton died suddenly at a New Orleans hospital on Wednesday. He was 59. |
