Blake Shelton Shares Thanks, Credit For "Hillbilly" Success
Blake Shelton says he appreciates the success he's seeing with his latest hit, "Hillbilly Bone." The Trace Adkins collaboration has become Shelton's sixth chart-topping single, and the singer admits a lot of people are responsible for the accomplishment. He says he's "honored" by the radio support he has received -- both with this song and throughout his recording career -- noting, quote, "You dream of having a number one song all your life and now country radio has blessed me with six." He acknowledges the work folks at his label put into promoting his music, adding that he, quote, "couldn't ask for a better family." Shelton is also crediting his collaborator, saying Adkins, quote, "definitely helped bring it home to number one."
"Hillbilly Bone" is the title track to Shelton's latest CD. The disc, Shelton's first "six pack" release, sold more than 71-thousand copies in its first week available. It debuted on the Billboard 200 album chart at number three -- marking his highest entry yet on the all-genre listing.
Shelton also marked another career milestone this week. He performed a sold-out concert Thursday night at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, which was the first time he's had top billing for a show at the famed venue. |
