Britney Spears' Mom Lynne Blasts Ex-Manager Lutfi
Lawyers for Britney Spears' mother, Lynne, are blasting the singer's former manager. According to Lynne Spears' legal team, Sam Lutfi is such a scoundrel that it's impossible to libel him. Lutfi is suing Lynne for defamation over statements she made about him in her book. In "Through The Storm, A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World," Spears claims Lutfi drugged her pop star daughter and would even hide her dog from her. She says Lutfi liked to play "savior" by acting like he had found the dog later. Lutfi claims Lynne's book is the reason he couldn't go out in public without people yelling insults at him. But Lynne's lawyers state that defamation claims against their client should be dismissed because Britney's ex-manager never had a good enough reputation in the first place.
They say, quote, "Lutfi is one of the rare individuals to whom the libel-proof doctrine would apply." According to TMZ.com, Britney's conservatorship filed a three-year restraining order against Lutfi last year. |
