In 1977 The Clash released their first single, "White Riot." In 1978 Aerosmith was among the artists performing at the California Jam 2 festival in Ontario, California. An estimated crowd of 250-thousand was in attendance. In 1979 Blondie released the album "Parallel Lines," featuring the hit "Heart of Glass." In 1980 AC/DC's album "Highway To Hell" was certified Platinum. In 1989 Bon Jovi's "I'll Be There For You" broke into the Top 40. In 1991 Lenny Kravitz released the album "Mama Said." The Cure's album "The Head On The Door" was certified Gold. In 1994 Police confiscated four guns and 25 boxes of ammunition from Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain after his wife, Courtney Love, called the police because she was afraid he would commit suicide. In 1996 The Sex Pistols announced that they were reuniting for a 20th anniversary tour. In 1997 Aerosmith released the album "Nine Lives." In 2002 The Ramones and Talking Heads were among the artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2004 Courtney Love was arrested for allegedly assaulting a man at a nightclub in Manhattan while she was performing. The late Randy Rhoads received induction into the Hollywood RockWalk. Ozzy Osbourne was on hand for the ceremony. In 2006 Metallica played their first-ever concert in South Africa, performing at the three-day Colab Massive Mix festival in Centurion, which is between Johannesburg and Pretoria. In 2009 The documentary "Iron Maiden: Flight 666" had its North American premiere at the South by Southwest 2009 Film Festival in Austin, Texas.<
