1974 - Paper Lace's "Billy, Don't Be A Hero" hit number one on the UK pop singles chart.
Jim Croce's "I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song" and MFSB's "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)" broke into the Top 40 chart.
1985 - Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Relax" (remix) peaked at number nine on the pop singles chart.
Duran Duran's "Save A Prayer" peaked at number 16 on the pop singles chart.
Madonna's "Crazy For You" broke into the Top 40 chart.
1989 - Debbie Gibson's album "Electric Youth" was certified Gold and Platinum.
1988 - At a concert in Chile, Mr. Mister's Richard Page dedicated a cover of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground" to Chilean artists who had been, quote, "frightened to death" by the military regime. When the band left the stage, military censors issued a bogus retraction from Page.
1992 - Jon Secada released the single "Just Another Day."
Michael Bolton's album "Time, Love, and Tenderness" was certified five times Platinum, while Michael Jackson's single "Remember the Time" was certified Gold.
1994 - Salt 'n' Pepa's album "Very Necessary" was certified double Platinum.
1995 - Madonna' album "The Immaculate Collection" was certified six times Platinum.
2002 - Michael and Tito Jackson served as co-Best Men and Mya was one of the bridesmaids at Liza Minnelli's star-studded wedding to producer David Gest. Jackson brothers Jackie, Marlon, and Randy, along with Michael McDonald and James Ingram, served as groomsmen and ushers, while Whitney Houston, Paula Abdul, Gloria Gaynor, The Pointer Sisters, and Shaggy were among the performers at the lavish ceremony in New York.

2005 - Former "American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard was in the crowd as Lindsey Cardinale was the first of the top 12 to get the boot on the fourth season of the Fox show.
2006 - Michael Jackson laid off 60 workers at his Neverland Ranch in California. He also shut down the property, since he was living in Bahrain at the time. The move came just days after California authorities fined Jackson for failing to pay his workers over a three-month period.< |
