The 5th Dimension Joining St. Louis Walk Of Fame
The Walk of Fame in St. Louis, Missouri is about to get another star. "The St. Louis Post-Dispatch" reports the city will honor the 5th Dimension on Thursday. The pop group has ties to the area. Original members Billy Davis, Jr., Lamonte McLemore, and the late Ron Townson all hailed from St. Louis. Davis -- for one -- says he's wondered when the Grammy-winning group would get its star, adding, quote, "Robert Guillaume, a good friend of mine who is from St. Louis, was honored, I didn't know when they were going to honor us. It feels good." Both Davis and McLemore are reportedly planning to attend the Walk of Fame event this week.
The 5th Dimension rose to prominence in the 1960s. The group's hits include "One Less Bell To Answer" and 1969's "Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In," a medley of material from the musical "Hair." |
