Junior Blind Of America Adds Wonder To Its Board
Stevie Wonder is using his influence to help a nonprofit organization. Junior Blind of America has added Wonder to its Board of Directors. Regarding the appointment, Junior Blind's President Miki Jordan said, quote, "Stevie has been a dedicated friend and supporter of Junior Blind's children and families for two decades. We are thrilled he is taking this next step to build on his long standing commitment to improving the lives of people who are living with visual impairments and other disabilities." The organization was founded in 1953 and helps the blind, multi-disabled, or visually-impaired work toward independence. In December 2009, Wonder was bestowed with another prestigious appointment. The United Nations named the singer-songwriter a Messenger of Peace.
