Phoenix Share Their "Rock Band" Experience
Phoenix is picking up some extra fans thanks to their inclusion in "Rock Band." Earlier this year the band's songs "1901" and "Lisztomania" were added to the video game. Singer Thomas Mars says he thinks the games are particularly useful for drummers, which he appreciates given his band's difficulties in discovering someone qualified to sit behind the kit. Mars admits he doesn't believe games like "Rock Band" are good for guitarists. He says budding guitarists really can't hone their skills by playing the game, which leaves him concerned that, quote, "what's gonna happen is you're gonna have great drummers and bad guitarists in the future." However, Mars adds that he and his band mates still appreciate being part of the game -- and they even enjoy playing the game. The Phoenix songs "1901" and "Lisztomania" are available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii systems.
