Cav's Devin Brown to Pitch in and Feed the Children |
| |
Cleveland Cavaliers Guard Devin Brown is teaming up with international hunger relief organization Feed The Children to provide 400 needy Cleveland families with boxes of food and personal care items on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church (1211 E. 105th Street). Several of Brown’s teammates including Ira Newble, Shannon Brown and Cedric Simmons, along with volunteers from the Cavaliers front office, are scheduled to be in attendance for the distribution.
Bethany Baptist Church is a Feed The Children partner agency and has pre-identified all 400 families who will each receive a 25 pound box of food and a box of personal care items.
“We are so grateful for Devin Brown,” said Larry Jones, president and co-founder of Feed The Children. “Four hundred families in Cleveland will receive food because of this generous gift of kindness. We send our most sincere ‘Thank you!’ to Devin!”
Founded in 1979 by Larry and Frances Jones, Feed The Children is consistently ranked as one of the 10 largest international charities in the U.S., based on private, non-government support. Feed The Children is a Christian, international, nonprofit relief organization with headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, that delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to individuals, children and families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty or natural disasters.
