Cavs and Kia Team up for Kindness in Action |
| |
Students at both Kenneth Clement Boys Leadership Academy and Douglas MacArthur Girls Leadership Academy in Cleveland received a special lunchtime surprise on Wednesday courtesy of the Cavaliers and Kia Motors, Proud Partner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was all part of the “Kindness In Action” program that initiates random acts of generosity targeted toward those in need in economically depressed areas of the community.
At Kenneth Clement Boys Leadership Academy on Cleveland’s east side, the school cafeteria was abuzz with young men ready to have lunch when the Cavaliers hip-hop troupe the Scream Team and mascot Moondog made an unexpected delivery of Theresa’s pizza and cookies! Before the boys headed back to class, the Scream Team treated them to a performance to get them ready to hit the books!
Over at Douglas MacArthur Girls Leadership Academy on the west side of Cleveland, the girls were also treated to pizza, cookies and a Scream Team performance that included the students working off some energy by learning some dance routines from Scream Team members.
“Teaming up with Kia Motors to do something positive for those who are underserved in the community is an important part of our partnership,” said Cavaliers Colleen Garrity, director of community relations.
“Kia Motors is proud to have a significant part in driving programs and activities that improve community morale and go hand-in-hand with Kia’s core philosophies of teamwork, dedication and performance,” said Michael Sprague, Kia Motors vice president, marketing.
